Only one application can use your webcam at a time. Close Zoom, Microsoft Teams, FaceTime, or Skype.

Before joining your next scheduled meeting, use Google Meet's built-in testing space to verify your video feed: Go to ://google.com . Click > Start an instant meeting .

Ensure (or Allow apps to access your camera ) is toggled On . google meet camera is blocked

Ensure any physical privacy slider or camera cover on your laptop is open.

An outdated device driver can prevent browsers from communicating with your hardware. Right-click the and select Device Manager . Expand the Cameras or Imaging devices section. Right-click your webcam and choose Update driver . Select Search automatically for drivers . Check Antivirus Software Only one application can use your webcam at a time

Click the (More Options) icon at the bottom of the Meet screen. Click Settings (represented by a gear icon). Select the Video tab from the left panel. Click the dropdown menu under Camera . Select your active, primary webcam hardware.

Bottom line: 90% of “camera blocked” errors are resolved by toggling browser permissions or OS privacy settings. The remaining 10% require driver resets or enterprise policy review. Click > Start an instant meeting

Try incognito mode (extensions off by default) or disable ad blockers/privacy extensions temporarily.
